2000 Audi S4 No Start
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have never had any problems with my car before the other morning. It has always started up and run without showing any signs of a problem. I started my car up for work and drove 20 min to a coffee shop to grab my morning cup before work. when I got back into the car to start it the engine would not turn over. I just got the usual "push clutch in to start" on the cluster but when I turn the key Nothing. There is power; doors, windows, radio all work but the car has not started after several attempts. The car is parked at my shop but before I start pulling things apart I was hoping someone else has had this happenand could give me a heads up as to where to start. Thanks
My first guess would be the safety switch on the clutch. I have a TIP so I can't help you with the exact location but most likely it is inside the cabin, adjacent the clutch pedal.
Thanks I checked the resistance of the sensor. It shows little resistance with the petal up and infinite resistance with the petal depressed. given that the switch is good then it should still crank with it disconnected but it does not want to turn over. I cant find any factory specs on the clutch switch so I am not sure if it is working properly given the resistance readings I took. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
