Default 2004 audi s4

Hi i just got a 2004 audi S4 with 23,338 miles on it. I know nothing about cars except changing the oil and adding fluids. My dashboard is indicating next maintenance to be done after 6900 miles. I checked the oil and it was one third to the top, so I'm guessing i'll have to change the oil before 6900 miles? Also my warranty is expiring next month, so I'd like to get it checked before then. What do you suggest?

Thanks!

Nice looking car. My 04' was silver too. The oil service on the S4's is every 10k if you are using the factory recommended synthetic. I'd be careful and know who you are taking it to for service if you don't know anything about cars. Don't let some 18 year old at quicky lube mess with your car just to save a few $$$. The engines in these cars are about $10k to replace.

It's worth the couple of extra bucks to get it serviced by a reputable independent shop if you don't want to pay dealership prices for service. Myself, I have a great dealership that I bought two of my cars from. They do all my service. It's worth the extra $$$ to have it done right.

Doesnt hurt to stop by the dealership and have them check everything over on a newly purchased car. Might as well replace something now while you still have a warranty. Did you get an extended warranty? I was able to get one up to 115k miles (41k currently) which I feel I will get some good use out of.

For some reason I have never pushed either of the S4's I have owned to triple digit speeds. Maybe it is just advancing old age. I'm content to rip third gear wide open on the back roads. I have to be really careful in town because Mahoning County Sherriff's already pulled me over for opening my 04' up from a stop at a light.

I want to find a speedway somewhere to track the car and see what it will do. Yeah, old age... I would have just done it already on the highway if I was still in my 20's.

haha thats what im worried about, my car got me a few tickets in Montana. i was doing 120 in a 75 one weekend going back to school and a cop got me.. all i had to do was pay him on the spot 40 dollars.. he even told me that if it wasnt laybor day weekend he wouldnt even have pulled me over lol. so i cant really afford any more tickets. but yeah when i was test driving i was driving it hard and it drove amazing! i think i was scareing the guy a bit..

but yeah im with you beefyosito, i want to really try it out on a track, rather only kill my self driving fast then get a whole bunch of people involved haha.

Well I think I got it out of my system doing it once. Wasnt trying to break triple digits but was passing two cars... on a downhill hah! Anyway it was fun but really dont want to push the envelope off the track. Theres one or two tracks about an hour away I want to go out to and get my certification for open track days.

Dear <3 Audi <3,

Please dont screw up the B8 S4, since the beginning it has been glorious. That is all, thank you.
