Dan,
this is just an Idea, but you can get a cradle for your ipod, and it plays through a specific FM frequency that you designate. It also charges the ipod from the cigarette lighter. If you might want to try this, i can email you a photo so you have some idea what it looks like.

yes i already have a fm tuner for the ipod but its not very clear not as clear as if it had a direct connection to the stereo, just wondering if audi came with a direct connect like the new bmw's and other cars are starting to have.

Ok,
I'm not a pro on this topic yet..however i have a 2005.5 and just installed the sirius radio. love it. anyway, folks will tell you you can no longer connect directly to the stereo because the satellite is using that input. however, there are ways around this. go to audiworld.com and search this topic. as for the fm transmitter, ever the best is for ****. another great advantage of the hardwire iw the ability to charge withoug using another cord to clutter the dash. I just got the sirius installed, and have just staretd to look into this. i will let you know what i find.

There are probably half a dozen companies or more that make kits for this. Usually around $200 or so. Either search on this forum for iPOD connection or just do a Google search for Ipod Car connection.
The ones I've looked at usually involve a small control bok that plugs into either the back of the head unit or the CD changer connection in the trunk. Then a cable that goes from the control box to the Ipod.

You must understand..these kits..such as the dension, ipod to car etc...all use the port that your satellite radio is now using....you will have to be creative to use one of these direct links...it has been discussed..AND described with picture details on audiworld.com you CANNOT simply buy one of these 200$ kits and apply it to the factory bose stereo on the B7 S4 because you are already using the connection link on teh radio...understand???
