2005.5 vs 2006 S4
Hey guys, I just sold my 1998 A4 Avant 2.8L 5 speed (special ordered it new in 98) and needless to say, I am having sellers remorse. To alleviate my pain I am looking at picking up a new S4 soon, but I was wondering if there is any difference between the 2005.5 model and the 2006. They both have the new body style, but I saw a guy on the net selling his 2005.5 to buy an 2006 and it got me thinking that there may be some differences I am not aware of.
Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. - B

Thanks for the info Jshu. Now I just have to decide between the midlife crisis sedan or the more functional wagon that I am accustom to driving. Don't want these factory audi roof racks to go to waste.
ya, the 05.5 so cal dealers are giving $5k off the cars to get rid of the 2005.5 sticker price 55k minus 5k is $50,000 plus tax and license..thats the deal i got and i went to every dealer, they all gave the same deal i just needed to find the car i wanted, but the 2006 is all 62k and above, and stick shift only i think (25qauttro), so pay attention to that, there is no body difference that is major from 05.5 to 06 interior is same except few extras on leather chairs, but thats about it nothing to waiste $8,000 on unless u truely want it
Thanks for the advice guys. I picked up a 2005.5 MT6 silver with black leather, nav, etc. - pretty much all the options except parking sensors and tire pressure monitoring - with 22k miles for 42k (sticker price new was 56k).
Hell, just broke in for me
Drove it up from from Cali to washington last weekend. Made full use of the adaptive front headlights winding through the Lake Shasta area at 1 am.
seems to be a bit faster then the 1998 2.8L A4 wagon I've been rolling in for the past 7 years.....just a little.

Not the best pics, but I like driving it more then looking at it anyway. Did the Audi Driving experience today in Seattle and got a couple hot lap rides in the RS4 with a driver (some german engineer decided to drive it like a crazed maniac in LA and ruined it for us laymen that may have gotten to drive the car at the events), but what a sweet ride. I wish I could turn off the ESP control under 30 mph in my rig so I could work on the 4 wheel drift he had rolling in that RS4. I love the sound of the RS4 exhaust, but for a daily driver, I think my stock S4 exhaust is just fine for me.
FYI - I liked the sweet neutral feel of the 3.2 L TT taking corners on the course of all the models I drove. Interior is a bit tacky plastic looking, but fun to drive.
the driving AND look of any audi is what makes us special
i got my first audi back in 96 and i'm sure i'll be brand loyal till i'm in a nursing home in my quattro wheelchair.
S4's are THEEEEEEE BEST!
