Hi,

Was looking through the S5/A5 pages and saw that the A5 now has 8 speed autos. The S4 also has a 7 speed dual clutch. Does anyone think the S5 will change the transmission in the next model / year (for the auto). Also many of audi's other cars seem to be going smaller v6's supercharged, is the S5's V8 going to be made into a supercharged V6 too? Know noone knows for sure but what are your expectations?

 

I think the 8 speed is just for the cvt. the s5 cab already has the v6t, i would think audi would want to keep the s5 with the v8, maybe you'll see the 420hp version, or maybe you could get it as an option.

i like the v6t better than the 356hp V8 anyway. the r8/rs4 engine, on the other hand ....

 

What they need to do is offer a supercharged RS5 4.2L backed by a DSG.

Now that would would eat almost anything alive!
