Default AUDI S4 0-60 TRULY

there are numerous reports about the 2004+ V8 S4 0-60 times....

http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....&page_number=1

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/audi...roadtests.html

http:////motortrend.com/roadtests/se..._0304_frst_s4/

http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache...+s4+0-60&hl=en

http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache...0-60+4.9&hl=en

http://motortrend.com/roadtests/seda...rt/index6.html

I Like to believe the S4 is capable under moderate skill-- to achieve the 4.9 ( in stock form)
reported in the final motortrend article....

Can anyone tell me about these 0-60 figures..are they all accurate?

Why does the factory hawk a 5.4 figure that seems docile compared to a 4.9..if it is achievable

are there as many different figures (varying) for other car tests?
I want to know
and someone tell me if they have clear evidence of there s4's 0-60 times markedly improved after basic mods.. I demand it!

I really dont think a stock V8 S4 would run 4.9 .
Not even with a pro driver.

Yeah, agreed. You have to have a few mods going to reach that number. Unless you are track friendly, does it really matter? I can't remember the last time I 0-60'd against a Toyota Tercel.

With a full exhaust conversion- downpipes back...
say giving- safely 20 more hrse to wheels and 25~ pounds trqe

is that enough to increase 0-60 times by a few . ticks?

Does anyone know how the horse and trq figures convert into performance?

Yea , that would shave a few miliseconds off the time.

Exactly.

Not much time at all.

I think you can do a 5.1-5.2 0-60, but a 4.9; no way.

In mine (b5) I guess I'm doing a 5 flat and I know I'm just faster than the B6, but only just.

Maybe an intake, full exhaust and chip with high octane will get you a 4.9?

lets keep this thread alive for some time and get some accurate data

I have access to a dyno that can handle all wheel drive... and I am getting downpipes this week
millteks that claim a significant boost in power..15 hrse 20 ft pnds...

and Ill do some runs, I can shift decent enough

at LACR or can you figure out 0-60 times any other ways- better- what is the best way to measure 0-60?>
I have a stopwatch..?

And by the way- whats the deal with the articles from reputable mags and the other various tests
that report a 4.9 ( in the links at top) the final one I know says 4.9

are they just lying?> for the sake of .. I am not sure why

This is a good question i feel, because they claim to have produced 4.9 on their tests

I'm curious about this to Jenny, you should try contacting them.
Ask them how they do their tests and how the heck they get such great times.

I wonder how many tries they do before taking the best number?
