There is a 2000 audi s4 at a used car dealer 6spd. black on black, it has a borla exhaust, And a cold air intake on it, the guy said hell sell it to me for 10500.00 but he said it has a tick, and im not sure if ishould go through with it. they just replaced the waterpump and timing belt. I have a 98 audi a4 2.8 quattro tiptronic, with 92000 miles andI thought about trading my car in for it and do some monthly payments on the s4. what should i do?

 

have it looked over, most places will do that for free

Im wondering if hell take 8500 for it. or if he'd be willing to make a straight trade since my audi a4 v6is in better condition then the s4

 

oh and about the ticking im thinking maybe it needs an oil change or somethin? my car usually ticks when im in need of a serious oil change. i have a 98 Audi A4 2.8V6 quattro, n when i need an oil change it usually ticks at idle but quiets down when on the gas.

 

I bought my Nogaro with Blue inserts for a little less than that. And it had about the same amount of mileage. So if you can figure out what the ticking is, it could be a good deal.

 

Whats the most i could be spending in repairs if it is serious. life if the ticking was serious whats the most that i could be looking at to fix?

 

It's probably just lifter tick, change the oil and see if it goes away...if not, and its loud and random it may be knock aka run..

 

if it knocks how much would it cost to repair for it?
