b5 s4 clutch cylinder help
Ok so here is the problem. My car will not shift into gear and I am sure it has to do with one of the cylinders needing replacement. Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of where to look for my clutch master and slave cylinder. Or does anyone know where it is that can just tell me. Also which is more likely to be the problem, the master or slave cylinder. From what I have found while searching it appears that the slave cylinder is located between the motor and the transmission in the bell houseing. Is the right? Im really stuck here and am getting ready to take the car apart myself but am looking for any inside help first, thanks guys.

They are a toss up on which one goes really, and they are both close to each other on drivers side top of the tranny. You will have to feel for them or a flex mirror. Also can you get it into gear without the car running, just make sure its not the syncros and make sure its all the gears that you cant get into when its started and your trying to get it into gear.
