B5 S4 door handle getting hot???

The past 2 days my battery had been dying on me and couldn't figure it out why till today. For some reason my driver side door handle and especially the key hole are getting extremely hot. I pulled the door panel off and noticed that some kind of module that has3 plugs on it is getting hot as well. Does anybody know the name of this module or componentbecause I need to replace it?

That is the lock heater. It should kick on when the handle is lifted. does it get hot even if you don't lift the handle?

Just because of what it does, thelock heater, could be causing a short of sorts and drawing power to itself causing it to be hot all the time and you to have a dead battery. At least you will have a hand warmer for the time being while you fix it....

Yea sounds like your causing it to run 24/7 prolly just got jumped or part of the relay shorted out cause of some water dripping in or something. should be a cheap fix.

Yea, looks like thats the problem, I ordered the part last night. I just hope thats the problem and theres no short somewhere else because I'm having another problem where I lost control of my passenger side window from just the drivers side. Could this just bea fuse that has gone bad?

that fuse usually causes the whole module to go out, its prolly the switches it self. did u get water in that door like alot? might have soaked in and shorted some stuff, however wiht electrical u could replace the door lock heater and the window could work again hahah ive seen crazier things....
