Default B5 s4, help me mod

Well I may be getting this s4-http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/1101837190.html

What mods would be recommended to give it more power? Should I opt for giac? Let me know

Not wanting to spend too much money!
Thanks!

Sounded like an awesome deal, until I ran into the salvage title section. If repaired properly, it wouldn't bother me. However, keep in mind the re-sale value with that title. Also did not see any mention of timing belt change unless I missed it. It is not an easy or cheap service, unless you do it yourself.

As far as mods, it already seems to have an APR chip. I would say a K04 upgrade is next.

However, if you are satisfied in person, than it definitely looks to be a fun toy. I really like the wheels. They definitely spruce it up.

not much.. the ecu still is going to limit boost to whatever program your running.. say you just throw in turbos on a stock program, more turbo lag and the same amount of boost, possibly more boost towards the higher rpms, or should i say less boost bleed off.. then if you have a GIAC or an APR chip itll be again, limited to 17 psi or so.. if you go k04's.. please.. put the money into software and fueling.. as well as breathing better with exhaust and intake..

Stage 1 = Chip
Stage 2 = Chip + catback
Stage 2+ = Chip + downpipes + catback
Stage 3 = New turbos, fueling, remap

It says nothing about an exhaust so i would start with downpipes + catback, that will give you a little more power. Its allready chipped, or what we call stage 1, so adding dp's and a catback would make it stage 2+. A big brand exhaust system will be several thousand dollars, SSAC is the ebay alternative for several hundred, or you can also get a custom catback, and gut the stock downpipes yourself.

Stage 3 requires a significant investment, as much or more than your going to pay for the car FYI

Turbos, exhaust, intercoolers, fueling, tune, clutch, sensors + repairs. Seriously

What would be needed for 350whp? Or even 300whp?

stage 2.. a chip alone can do that... the car comes stock with 250... 300 is easily attainable

were talking wheel HP not crank. A chip will easily get you 300 crank HP, to get 300 whp youll need a chip (not APR, youll want GIAC or custom, and a race file would be good too), real downpipes and a catback. Race fuel would help too. Remember though at 300whp your gonna have significantly more than 300 wtq which is a very good thing.

The draw back here is that stock turbos wont like being run like this (18 psi) very often, and their life will be affected. You can put the rs4 turbos on with a stage 3- tune, new FPR, and limit the boost. Youll only make a little more power than on k03's and youll have a little more lag. Your injectors will also be running to their max which isnt desireable. Its called stage 3 minus
