So I was driving my car today and a couple mins. down the road i hear 3 beeps and a oil can appears in the middle of the dash... the oil can looked like it was dripping... so i checked oil on dipstick...looked low so i added oil hoping that was issue and didnt help, called audi dealer and they said oil pressure switch... DO NOT DRIVE IT! im not leaking oil nothing... so i guess im confused... is this a costly fix? i know its an audi and things arent cheap... but any help would be apprecieated!

Owners manual says that means add oil. I had a leak in mine and saw that once...added oil and went away.

yellow oil can with MIN underneath means low oil level

red oil can with drip means low oil pressure

Its ok to drive with low oil level, as long as you add some soon.

Not ok to drive with low oil pressure. good news is that the pressure sensor is sensitive to gunk and may just be jammed up. If you had low oil pressure in the crank case the engine would likely let you know by making a horribly dying noise, just before horribly dying.

This is what i have done so far.. called audi they said oil pressure sensor... i figured it was a clog or something so went and got oil changed... drove a little bit and light stayed... so tried some seafoam.... and that didnt work... let car sit and saw she was leakin oil from underneath/ above oil pan... and i was told usually if the sensor goes bad u leak oil.... so last resort is replace oil pressure sensor.... has anyone had this done? is it costly?

This just happened to me! Added 1/2 qt oil, light went out. Dipstick shows full. Drive 80 more miles, light on again.
