This is my first s4 avant. Got all the goods with a 6 speed manual and rs4 style wheelsand I am floored by the performance and balance of this car. Looking for recommendations for air filter, exhaust and chip. Please respond with details for 2008, since I see that many recommendations are forearlier models.

I love the rs4 wheels, im thinking of getting those for my b5. i can help with the exhaust and chip.. for exhaust a lot of b6 and b7 guys go for Milltek, but there are other companies that will do them.. search at avalon motorsports, apr, awe, there are others i just can't recall them since im not looking for b7 stuff. Chips you can find GAIC at AWE for some increase performance, not much, but after dp's and exhaust and chip, you'll get some results.

i heard vast makes a beast chip for your car and they are the best people too work with

 

2nd on the vast chip. I have the TCU and ECU from them....night and day difference. not only that but Vast makes Dp's for your car as well...they actully modify them for performance. but you would need to send out your current Dp's for modifacation

 

I'm biased towards the APR stuff. I have their exhaust on my TT and will be getting their S4 exhaust in the spring. Their ECUs are great. Very nicely executed with the use of the cruise control function to access the programing. The boost in performance I experienced in my S4 after they chipped me was very nice. More torque and much better throttle response.

I had done a lot of research before buying, but just got my 04 S4 fitted with a cat-back from Fast Intentions. IT SOUNDS AWESOME!!! There's no drone and once you hit the pedal it sounds amazing...they make exhaust for your year, check them out on tantrumwerks.com- I went with 8" resonators and X-Pipe and it's a perfect balance between insanely loud and stock muffled!!
