Chains on a 2010 S4?
Howdy, I just joined. Had a question that I couldn't find the answer to.
Has anyone installed cable chains on a 2010 S4?
In CA, they sometimes require chains, even with AWD. So I got a set and they fit fine, but they completely rubbed the upper wishbone. So after 50 feet of driving, I took them off.
Anyone ever install them? What kind and size? Anything I should know?
Also, has anyone driven their '10 S4 in the snow yet? How bad are the summer tires in the snow? Am I asking for trouble when I head to the mountains?
Thanks,
Don

FYI, I installed a set of Super Z(low profile) cable chains, and they badly rubbed the upper control arms. I drove them about five feet, and said No Way.
So, chains no bueno on 19's.
PS, Audi said that chains are only good for 17" rims, but then of course only 18's or bigger will fit the brakes. lol

After the chains rubbed, I called the Audi Sales Manager, and said I was dissapointed that I was told chains would fit, and they obviously don't. He offered to replace my Summer tires with a set of High Perf All Seasons!
So a new set of Continental Extremecontact DWS tires are on the way.
