2002 S4....it appears my engine mounts are starting to leak. How will I know that they HAVE to be changed? Besides getting some excess vibration, what could happen if I don't change them?

 

well they are leaking for one, so change them. If your beating on the car with bad motor mounts, things will just start falling apart, usually exhaust leaks, but i dont think anything major. I dont think its a big deal to change them, just lifting the motor no need to pull it out (i think).

 

yea the only hard part is the passenger side has a heat shield thats in a tight spot
