Fuel pump replaced 2004 S4 - Acting funny.

When I bought my S4 about 4 months ago, everything was perfect. I loved the car so much, it was glorious. But one day, it refused to start.

I had it towed to the VW shop because they were the only place in town that would touch my car, and they told me I needed to replace my fuel pump. So I paid $1100 for a new pump and installation only to have my car act totally stupid.

Upon starting the car, everything runs very shaky and slow until about 10 minutes after hitting running temperature. The acceleration is a bit retarded, and the car shakes violently at low RPMs. It releases a harsh smell, and sounds like the engine is crapping out. Fortunately, nothing dangerous or horribly freaky has happened with these issues yet, but I'd like to know whats going on.

Figured I would ask online and see if anybody has any idea whats happening before I front loads of cash just to have my car looked at by more incompetent mechanics.

I just want my real S4 back..

sorry to hear that..... i had horrible nightmares with my 04 too... unfortunately it did not end well....(moment of silence...) lol

....if you plan on fixing it yourself try
-compression test
-check spark plugs
-change CTS
-check MAF readings
-check intake temp readings
-fuel pressure
-injector ohms

...if not you'll have to take it to audi and they'll want to take out the engine to diagnose further...probably 5-10k

this is why i bought a b5

Is the check engine light on? It should be from the problems you are describing. How did the car run when you picked it up from getting the fuel pump?
If there was an immediate problem it should have been brought right back to the repairing shop. Is this something that has developed later on?
