Exclamation Help!! Boost cut. Rough Idle. What to do?

I was searching around before work and no luck but i desperately need help for my car. I drive a 2001.5 s4 6speed manual. This weekend i took the car to tonasket for the barter faire and on the way back my car did something strange and threw some codes. I pulled the codes and one of them was for a misfire and the other one was the maf voltage was off. Here is what happened... I started the car and it would barely idle, it was over revving and under revving at the same time, back and fourth. When i tried to drive it the car would surge if the vacuum dropped below 20 or tried to go above 2 or 3. Currently i have the maf unplugged and its running better but making no boost. I think the problem is the maf but im not sure. I know that if the car is running rough and you unplug the maf and it runs better then its usually the maf that is the problem. But when i did this in the past i didnt have a loss of boost. Also i can hear the turbos spooling, it doesnt sound like a blow tubro but i just dont know. I was looking for some information about maf replacement/temp bypass. But it would also be nice to get my boost back . Anything helps thanks guys.

Yeah you do need a new maf. If your turbos went you would hear them pop or blow.

The solution to your problem is to check the vacuum and boost lines, it really sounds like one of them almost completely came off and not letting your boost flow causing a surge in the vacuum from normal engine revs.

As far as the misfire, that could be related as in the motor skipped when this all happened.

Let me know, but a hose should be your problem. I had a hard time sorting thru your train wreck of probelms you mentioned haha.

Yea i was kind of in a hurry to get to work when i typed that up.

Anyway though im pretty sure the maf is fine. And i found the problem.

What had happened was the boost hose on the driver side SMIC popped off and i didnt know it. I noticed it when i was looking under the car for damage. I hooked it back up and plugged the maf back in. Then i disconnected the battery for a minute. Started it up and it drives great again .

Today my baby got a wash and a wax and looks amazing.
