Just wondering how many miles you guys have on your S4's. I was going to get a B6 A4 but found a good deal on a B5 S4 with 100k miles so I might get that instead. Also how many miles did you guys put on your turbos before replacing them? Thanks

The B5 has got 31K & B6 12K
I think u will find that the it comes down to if the car has been looked after, ie not gettin onto boost in the middle of winter when backing out the drive way 1st thing in the morn and if u give it a bit let her cool down too
Like any thing if its looked after accordingly it ussually is rite, if u have to worry bout any fing then its more so the belts have been done! U can have S4's go for ages no turbo probs
Ive had turbo cars(European) with original turbos for well over 120K

I got it at 80K and now it has 82K thats not bad for four months but no turbo had to be replaced.

 

I bought my S4 brand new in 2002 and it has 65000 miles on it and all Ive done is the timing belt and change the oil. I think they are as dependable as you want them to be. I.E. regular maintenance is the key.

 

2001.5 B5 S4...73k, no turbos replaced and no mods installed.

 

I have 80K. Picked it up as a lease turn in with 56K. THat was March 05. I've had both turbos replaced, a coolent leak fixed, O2 sensor replaced, Coolent sensor replaced, and a EGR (if I remember right) valve replaced. All under warranty.

I can't vouch for the previous owner but I follow the owners manual and what the dealer tells me. I love the car and would own it again. Not sure I'd feel the same if I didn't have the warranty.


Oh and I am modded, so I'm sure that will have an effect on the longevity of the support pieces on the engine.

62,500. Did a TB replacement and oil change, but that's been it so far. Only had it for about 2 months, but it's been beautiful. Really all aspects of driving are covered. Can't say that about many other cars.
