ORIGINAL: germania

I don't have an S4 remote to try this with - although I'm working on changing that! But the chin trick always worked with my other keyless remotes. I could lock my old Lexus from my apartment, which was 200 feet away from my parking spot.
chin trick works with the S4 as well LOL (and i switched from a lexus)

Cbass... you said that you striped the insulation off of your antenna extention. I do not think that will work because it will make contact and cause the car to become the antenna.. or something.

Ok well the problem was that the stripped antenna was touching the metal, so I just moved it around a bit into a different position and now my range is much better. Thanks for the idea syxxty.

2k S4 -- I am new to reading in this S4 space on the forum. Is this antennae placement the same for the A6? My remote is pathetic as well -10 feet max and I have replaced the batteries. Any thoughts.

Under rear seat, driver side. There is a small box on a bracket, thats your remote. From this a black wire runs to the wiring harness where its covered in the same plastic cover you see in the pics. It runs up the side of the rear seat half way up, then doubles around and back down. To increase range you pull the wire out and run it all the way up the back seat and then across the back, making an 'L'.
