Hello all, obviously this is my first post. I just purchased a 2000 S4 with 52,000 miles on her. As of now it is completely stock with the exception of an APR Exhaust system. My next purchase is going to be an APR chip for her. I have a few questions for anyone that has an answer.

#1 I have a copy of the "CarFax" report and all is good. What can I expect (if any) as far as electrical and drivetrain problems?

#2 What other semi-inexpensive upgrades could you suggest? (Going to be a daily driver)

#3 Any idea how to correct the display? It has a line on the LCD display right through the middle of it. I am guessing I will have to replace the module to correct this? If so, how much $$ is it going to run me?

I guess that is all I am concerned with at this point.

well #2 & #3 i can help you on. on #2 if you do get the APR chip you will inevitably need to upgrade your diverter valves. Some people go with the 710N's which are BOSCH made, but just like the stock they will eventually blow out and you will have to keep replacing them. with that said go with HYPERBOOST or FORGE diverer valves. Its not really needed but there is also the k&n filter upgrade its about $50. For #3 i just had that display replaced it was about $600 - $700 but that replaces that little display as well as the odometer and where it displays the time and date. its not a must but it looks great when working correctly.

 

It pulls like a Monster. I am very impressed with the strength and even power of the 2.7TT. If you are looking for an S4 I know a place that has the same year as mine, except silver w/ blk leather with 63,000 on it. The price is extremely good, and the sales guy got me the Audi Coverage through JM&A. Let me know. Even better for you, it's in your neck of the woods(North Jersey) too.
