Kind of a Dumb Question
Has anyone removed the entire window? I mean just took the glass out of the frame and door. Window tint has been a future mod for me, and I want to save some money by doing it myself. I figure that if I can get the glass out that it should be a piece of cake. Not to mention, the end result would look a lot better. But I don't plan on doing the rear window, since I don't trust myself to do a good job on that one. Also, I am not buying cheap tint from autozone or something, I am going big and buying some from a professional tint shop.
No, you don't have to pull the window out, just use the exterior of the window as a template and cut the film to what you need. Then apply it to the inside of the window. Nobody removes the window to do that.
LOL, well its not that hard, but not easy either. Its no harder than doing the window regulator. You have to remove the door panel, take off the window frame, and loosen the bolts that hold the window in place on the carrier and slide it out. Too much of a PITA to do what you're doing though IMO.
tinting windows in the DC metro area is like 150 bucks to have a PRO do it, and it looks flawless. I can't image how much you are saving for the hassle your getting yourself into.

Well I definitely wouldn't be doing the rear window since its hard to get up in there. And its about $195 in my area. I imagine I'll end up just having a shop do it, but I like doing things on my own.
I have tinted somebody's car for them once with the good tint, and I honestly must say it wasn't too hard. It did take almost three hours and two bubbles to work out, but if you buy the actual heater and a good wedgie thenjust don't get fustrated. I found it easier to start from the top because once you have the top few inches on then gravity lets the rest hang pretty well in place once you push it on.
hey man i do tint for a living and what you do is get soap and water spray outside and cut your tint to the glass as a template and then transfer that to the inside and get some film(tint) applicator solution and attach the thint to your car and the squegee all the bubbles out you dont have to take out the whole window, but if it doesnt turn out the way bring it to a professional
