My UrS fuel pump after 191K :: PUKE ::
Finally getting around to replacing this. Dont know how my car was even functioning with the pickup filter this F*CKEN clogged. GROSSS!
I have a feeling my car is going to be a monster once it's back together...

Thanks! I saw your sig in another post, made me want to create my own sig! ha.
I bought it last feb w/ 186K. I've been "restoring" it since. Just now getting to a point where I feel comfortable driving it harder, had a bunch of maintenance needed (in my opinion).
I did an interior swap from Ecru to Black...and it all just snowballed from there! hahahahah I'm sure you know how much maintenance these UrS's can be....
Complete writeup here
Off the top of my head:

You sir have gone through a LOT of work! That is really awesome! I guess I kinda got lucky, 171k miles and I have full maitenence records since the day it was purchased. So far everything has been running really smooth and I have had a lot of fun with it (aka driving it harder
) I've only had it for about 3 weeks now though so i'm still in the honeymoon stage I guess you could say.
glad you went with the black interior though, it looks so much better and that last carpet in the car looked terrible! (I looked through all 5 pages of the thread you posted. hah!)

Thanks. To be honest you really just need the Bentley cdrom/manual, ETKA, and VAGCOM, i think most DoItYourselfers deny the fact that these are tools of the trade just like any other hobbie you partake in. It's expensive but it's a one time deal. And then there's no excuse for you to not be able to do your own work..... other than not having the right hand tools.
I personally like the money I save because it can go towards 1. more upgrades or 2. a high quality part
This is my first turbo car AND first standard car (believe it or not) and I'm just now getting back into wrenching so there's a long road ahead of me =)
In general you need one of those "i can take this apart and put it back together" type attitudes.
You've got an impressive list yourself I imagine you've done some of that yourself too.
