New(er) S4 buyer needs answer

Hey guys. New to this forum and looking to get an answer. In the process of buying a 2004 S4 (V8) with approximately 61,000 miles. Does anyone know if this engine requires timing belt / water pump replacement at 75,000 ish miles like the older twin turbo V-6?

Thanks for any responses.

There is of course a range of miles for your car to have that done, and if you pick 75k then that is fine to have it done.

Like Audi ops said you can do it at 75k (real safe side) or do it as late as 90k (recomended) I wouldn't let it go any later then 90k I just wouldn't risk it.

I was under the impression that the V8 has a chain which does not need replacing until it starts making noise. Please see this thread: https://www.audiforums.com/m_787433/tm.htm

Is that wrong?

Note - the accessories belt may need replacing. I know mine was done before I bought it, at about 63k miles.

V8 has a timing chain, but I don't know if the water pumps are still flaky pieces of shit like the rest of the Audi's I've owned. It may be driven by the serpentine belt like any normal V8 car is.
