Default New to Forum with '06 S4 Cabrio

Hi Fellow S Fans,Although I've had my car since new, back in August of '06, I was just introduced to this forum. She's an '06 S4 Cabrio, 6 speed, White with black top and interior andcarbon package. I just wanted to say hi and tell everyone howanxious I am tolearnfrom all of the true Audiphiles on here!I'm looking for parts to customizemyride.Even though it is an '06, its considered a B6 and not a B7 andas you probablyknow, findingaftermarket partsfor this model is quite difficult. I am trying tocreate a somewhat unique S4. I've alreadyequipped it with APR cat back exhaust andGIAC reprogramed ECU, Stasis/Koni tracksport suspension, Carbonio CAI, Work Wheels and Bridgestone tires.I am especially interested infindingcarbon fiber parts ( hood, trunk, etc.) for my car. Also, the APR exhaust is a little too quiet for my taste. Any suggestions for these or any other mods would be greatly appreciated! Thanks All!

Awesome car! Is that white Ibis?
To help a little with the hood and trunk, try gmgracing, they might have something. I just found another sale on a CFhood for u to check out
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=172457
and another thread for CF hoods
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=172186

It looks like you have a great base already for your car, not much more you can do really. I would check out Milltek or Fast Intensions for catback. You might want to look at downpipes for a more aggressive sound also! youtube has got a bunch of vids.
Supposedly Vast is in the D+D phase of their supercharger for "500whp" I have heard. I dont know about that, maybe 500chp.
Hope this helps!
Welcome!

Thanks so much for the kind words, warm welcome! and great suggestions!

Its actually the Arctic White. I believe the Ibis White was the replacement offered in '07.

Funny that you mention GMG. Fabryce is a good friend of mine. In fact, he did all of the work so far on my S4!

I truly appreciate your hard work in finding and forwarding thoselinksto me! What do you think of those boser style hoods? My favorite CF hood is the one that Carbon 24/ MTM makes for the S4. The problem is that its something like $8,000...OUCH!

In discussing it with Fabryce, he said that since the car is still under warranty, that he wouldn't recommend doing downpipes or racing cats. I was thinking of either taking out the resonators or using exhaust cutouts (www.dmhperformance.com) , which would allow me to toggle between muffled and straight exhaust.

I've never heard of Vast. Are they well known and reputable? I had heard that APR was pretty close to coming out with a supercharger too?

You're welcome. That's great that your friends with GMG! I'm sure you can get a lot of great info if you guys are buddy's.
It's not too hard finding infos on s4's if you know where to look, I am on the forums a lot going from here, to audiworld and audizine. the last 9 months I have been reading up/ researching.
I have cutouts and they are great!! I opened them up no the highway last night doing 70 and they were waaay too loud in the cabin. lol. They are loud and mean tho, and I love them! Take out a resinator would be good enough I think. try taking 1 out first, 2 might be too loud and the cops might be all over you!
Vast is a very reputable company, esp for the b5 guys. They are buying a bunch of my stock stuff which I am psyched about! APR was deisgning a roots supercharger kit, but I heard it would casue overheating problems. Vast is giong with the centrifugal style i beleive. There was a shop in western Mass (springfield area) that was going to try to come up with a biturbo kit. I havn't heard any news lately on that, but that would be kickass for sure and us B5 guys would get nervous!

Hey Sweed,

Thanks for all of your help! So what kind of cutouts do you have? As for the supercharger, because the car is relatively new, I'm hesitant to do anything that will void the warranty. I'm sure that you've seen that MTM supercharged 25th Aniv. S4 on here. That thing is AWESOME! Super clean and pretty understated, I bet that thing has embarrassed its fair share of unsuspecting drivers!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Chris

I have QTP cutouts. they came with the dowpipes I bought.
the mtm supercharged clubsport rs4 engine blew up right after they made that video for it apparently.
The superchargers are going to be an interesting mod for the b6 and b7 guys, and hopefully there will be kits available soon!

Hey Sweed,

Thanks for the info on the cutouts. What kind of DP's do you have?

I'm not familiar with thevideo of the RS4 that you are talking about. I was thinking about this car: http://www.audiworld.com/news/07/rea...-s4-25quattro/

Hope you had a great weekend!
