Default Oil temp sensor/sending unit

My oil temperature gauge stopped working and I assume its the sensor. Where is this located on the 2.7 motor? What is involved in replacement? gaskets? o rings?

just above the oil filter and housing on the front of the engine.. the oil filter sticks out at an angle and the sensor seems to be right on top of it about 3 to 4 inches but on the front of the motor, not angled out to the side...

Oil temp and oil level are in the same unit. It is located on the bottom of you oil pan and it is held with three bolts. Do not go to the dealer they will give you a sensor from the 2.8 engine. Trust me already went this route. And do not get anything but oem for this sensor after market units are not able to work with our cars. I just went through this whole thing during the summer. My temp gauge would never go above 175 now it does just fine.
