I will be doing it late next week. I don't know how yet but some headlights you can put in oven at like 150 degrees for a little bit and it will allow glue to release and you can pull them apart.

putting headlights in the oven is risky business with these lights...some ppl have had the housing melt on them.

Sooks - I already did the cc mod that was fun and easy. I am actually talking about seperating the clear plastic from the housing.
S obsessed - I actually kinda found a write up on it. I'll try and post a link.
And the oven sounds like a horrible idea why don't you just use a heat gun.
http://audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18904here's the link fellas it's not a bad idea, just be careful. good luck. and i'll post pics of mine tomorrow.

I was just going to cut it apart too but I guess I have heard of people using oven idea cause no everyone has a heat gun. Cutting it open could get scary for someone who doesn't have a steady hand or any type of common sense or mechanical too related type of skill. Which there are alot of people out there like that. I wouldn't recomend any ol' joe opening up headlights but mostly everyone on this forum is fairly knowledgeable. I am interested to see how it goes superdug. You could post some pics and how to for future guys

Yea i would reccomend not doing the OWEN idea hahahah bad news with the HID's...... Just cut it apart and make sure to clean the old glue off and buy somenew silicone or whatever is highheat and clear with a good rating then put them back together.... Not difficult just take your time... Headlights can get expensive.

I messed up my headlights doing the oven thing because I'm a dumbass and didn't put foil under the headlight... But I think it's safe as long as you use the foil... I had 3 friends do it... 2 on STi and one on S2000... and they allturned out fine...I'm sure it'll be fine if you take EVERYTHING out,,, that's including bulbs, ballasts, all wires and that thing that adjusts your headlights up and down... I can't think of the word...

OH... I tried using a heat gun... Maybe I was just impatient... But it didn't seem to work to well...
