Hey,
My name is Ignas im 19. I just bought a 2005 Audi s4 for myself. It has been in an accident, the rear is hit. The trunk, bumper, quarter panels need to be fixed. But my family owns a body shop and all the work and labor is free, im just ordering parts hah :D

Today when i went to pick up the car, i started it up no problem, tried putting it in first. Let the clutch go, and the car didnt move. Im not a noob on manual cars guys ive owned manuals before with way more WHP.

When you let the clutch go, in any gear there will be a sound coming from the front of the car, its a very small noise. YOu can even let the clutch out in any gear and the car will not die!!! And all of the gears go in, even reverse. The car will just not move. Its not the handbrake lol. And you can push the car back and forth fine.

I dont understand how the car could be messed up when the damage is in the back. Anyone with any idea please try to help.

get it on a rack dude!! if you can put it in gear fine and then just get no movement, and you have noise in the back im guessing the impact broke your driveshaft or your axles were janked out of the rear diff!!

im gonna have it all figured out and fixed by monday hah.

But the noise is coming from the front, not the back. The driveshaft is fine and so are the axles haha. We are getting a strong feeling its the clutch. motor will be taken out saturday. I will post pictures and updates haha.

UPDATE:!!!!!! K so since the car wasnt moving lol, we took it all apart. I got pictures for you guys :D

Got everything out now, took quite a bit. This audi is impossible to work on haha, you have to take everything off in order, because you cant even get your hand anywhere in there. Very little space in this engine bay, since the motor is too damn big for this car haha

AND FINALLY....here is the culprit. We had to disconnect the trans cause i wanted to look at the clutch. And noticed that the front wheels wont spin, however the back ones are fine. So then we started taking apart the trans. And the Transfer case i believe is what this is....is broken :( lots of metal came out haha.

DAMN it!!! going to AUdi tomorrow after school.

The new clutch and pressure plate are coming in tomorrow, and i will also replace them :D just to make sure i have a new one.

Still not sure how this could have happened. I dont believe its from beating the crap out of this car though, cause something weaker like the clutch would have gone first. THe car could have been parked and left in gear and then hit in the back....something along those lines. But ill never know.

So the i will order everything i need tomorrow, the car should be put back together this week. ANd i will drive it haha :D finally

Went to Continental Audi today. The case in those pics is the case for the differential. Brand new with my Auto Body shop discount cost me $1116 coming from Florida haha its the only one in the country, and not even Germany has any right now.

Will be about a week till i get it.
