Hi folks,

I have a 2002 S6 sedan that has seen better days. At the moment its at the repair shop needing a specific part. I'd like to order it online instead of paying dealer prices, but I'm stumped as to the part itself because, as much as the repair shop guy tries to explain it to me, I'm just not managing to pin it down.

The repair guy called it an Axle Shaft. He says he needs both the inner and outer shafts. He says they are attached to the gearbox and the part is usually sold with the gearbox attached.

As you can tell I'm not a gearhead (or pistonhead if you prefer) as such I call upon this forum's experience to give me a proper name for this part, and if you'd like to be my personal saviors, a link as to where its sold online!

Any input you have is greatly appreciated.

That was exactly what I was looking for! I even showed it to the repair guy to make sure, and he confirmed its the right part.
