I feel the the driveline thud a lil bit too much. I think I'm going to have new engine mounts and a snub mount put in. Anybody know how much that would run me???

Good lord ! Thats pretty cheap. I wonder if its a noticeable difference...

I may get the snub mount too. I do a lot of downshifting when braking. I love engine braking, it really sets you up for a turn or curve! This takes major practice! Especially getting into first! Still, the same rules apply. When engine braking quickly and trying to slow/stop quickly, you have to be quick with the clutch and do your best to engine rev match at the clutch release. At slower speeds and non-steep downshifts (lower rpms), just ride it out a little bit, this is the easy one.

Once you get good at the fast downshift, you'll be amazed at the whole new fun of curves/turns/U-bangers/parking lot entry's/traffic weaving, the list goes on and on!

just tap the gas with the right side of your foot, while the left side is on the brake, works gr8 for mee, and i dont have to twist my leg like a contortionist to get it to work,

I use this technique every day since the last 2 years. It works great and its a lot of fun. Its a little bit hard
for the begenning especially when there is car in front off you ! You dont want your foot to slip !!! But a
couple of week in practice will make you a good heel toe technician.

Have fun !!

I have a 2001.5 manual S4 with APR chip. If I were starting from a dead stop in a race, whats a good RPM to launch the car at? I know awd cars can be launched at higher RPM's but what is safe?

Another good heel-toe shoe are Steve Madden Styxx. They are my personal favorite driving shoes because they are wide at the toe. When I am heel-toeing, I just dip the right side of my foot into the gas; no twisted ankles.
