I was just looking at the film of the R8 and 911 skunkoncrunk has. It's cool looking, but don't you guys think its kinda odd that Audi built a car directly aimed at its buissness partner Porsche? Theres rumors that the Boxter/Caman are detuned to keep the 911 on top. It's like Buick building a car to out perform the Corvette, its just something buissness wise you don't do.

the cayman is tuned appropriatley to keep the gap between the it and the carrera. thats one company not wanting two cars in the same exact performance category with much different price tags. as for the r8, why cant audi build an "exotic"? Porsche doesnt mind because they still have much faster and better cars than the r8. The R8 is nothing like the 911, it just happens to be somewhat comparable to it on paper. body wise and engine placement, the carrera gt is more like the r8, so you can see why porsche wouldnt care.
