radio codes
Does anyone know how to get the safe code on your radio? cause I hate having no music? plus I already know I can go to Audi but they want 50 bucks to get it done. any ideas?
I had to pay the dealer for mine, I was pissed!
It might be in your owners manual, or on a sticker in the spare tire well.
If not, you have to go to the dealer. However, if the car has been dealer serviced, they might have
it on record, and not charge you. If you look in the owners manual, & see the dealer stamp, then call em.

I don't exactly understand what you are explaining, but I think that is the symtom that I had a couple of days ago.
Do you see 'SAFE' on your radio screen? and can not operate the radio?
if this is the case,
first of all, you have to look at one of your owner's manual. specifically, radio manual. (there should be 3 manuals in your glove box.)
on the very first page of that radio manual, you will see the 4-digit number. kinda like a serial number.
if you have the 4-digit number, you can fix it within 5 minutes with your healthy fingers.
first step, press the P-SCAN and PRBD(something like this,,not sure, the button right under P-SCAN) at the same time and hold them for about 20 seconds
until you see the 1111 on the screen.
Second step, change those 1111 to your 4-digit serial numbers using the 1234 number buttons right under your screen.
use button '1' to change first digit, button '2' for second digit,,so on.
***if you put wrong serial numbers for more than 3 times, you will have to take it to the dealer and let them unlock it.***
third step, press P-SCAN and PRBD(whatever) button at the same time until you see the 'SAFE' again on your screen.
and within a few seconds, your radio will be eventually turned on.
I've got this information from ALLDATA, and tried to my radio unit.
it took me only 3-4minutes or less than that.
Hope you have your serial numbers. if you don't, you have to go to dealer and ask them to get it.
Just ask for serial numbers, and do it yourself. if they ask $$ for just serial number, tell them 'bullshit'
GOOD LUCK!

First, try to use the search function. This topic has been discussed on a daily basis. If you don't have the code, your out of luck and will have to pay the stealer. Your lucky that it's only 50 bucks. It cost me over 100 at Scottsdale Audi.
Thanks, guys I actually found it on an invoice from a car dealer who had done the code before I owned it. So I told Audi to go shove there radio codes up there ***.
