S4 Alarm System???
So has anyone heard of a 2002 Audi S4 with the stock alarm system, having motion sensors inside the car? Because my friend said that they all had that, and I called BS on that and tried to set of the alarm and no alarm went off from me: waving my hands all around inside the car, hitting the seat, hitting the steering wheel, moving the shift lever...
As far as I now the alarm only goes off on the S4 if you try to manually unlock it when the car has been locked. Is that correct? thanks -Derek |
RE: S4 Alarm System???
I remember reading something about motion sensors in the manual yesterday. I'll double check when i get home from work. I just got my 02 Imola S4 last week, so that's why I was reading the manaul. ;)

RE: S4 Alarm System???
There are motion sensors ... theres also a disengage button by the door pillar (drivers side)
that turns off the motion sensor ( keeping your sunroof / windows open etc.) I found that out bec. whenever I left the surnroof open a crack - the alram would be going off...[:@] |
RE: S4 Alarm System???
The owners video talks about the security system in some detail and mentions the motion sensors. Like Turbo i3uddha said there is a button to disable it if you leave a pet or person in the car with it locked.

RE: S4 Alarm System???
Wierd, cause in my 2001 if I leave the sunroof or window cracked the alarm keeps going off even after I disarm it. A friend told me I can go to the dealer and have them change the alarm settings including windows going up and down when you lock the car etc. Anyone had this done?

you also have to wait for the led next to the lock rod to stop blinking quickly. i think it takes like 30 seconds or something to that extent before the motion sensors arm themselves. i don't know how long you waited, but i'd try just leaving the window down, lock the car with the key fob, wait for 30 seconds or so, then try sticking your arm in the car. it should work for you then if it does indeed have them. it should, my cousins a4 has them and my a6 has them, so i see no reason why the s4 wouldn't.

RE: S4 Alarm System???
Yes, all B5 S4's have the factory alarm.
There is in fact a motion sensor in the interior. There is also a on/off switch on the B pillar under the seat belt. If you lock/unlock the doors & do not open the drivers door, the alarm will reset it's self. It will also go off if you leave the windows & sunroof open. |
RE: S4 Alarm System???
My 2001 S4 had it. Wait over 30sec for the light in the door to blink slow and it is armed. They had issues with it going off all the time so Audi came up with a better system in later years.

RE: S4 Alarm System???
yeass and as for the windows working on the key kob dont pay a dealer to do it, just find a willing car enthusiast that has a VAG-COM and u can doo it for free. maybe buy them lunch or a 6 pack for their time.

RE: S4 Alarm System???
I swear I remember someone reaching in my car with the windows down and the alarm went off... or was I dreaming... I don't know.
