Spark plug replacement help 01 S4

Hey guys, I put a bunch of money in my S4. I just got to 120k miles. I need to replace spark plugs and I called a shop and they quoted me 200 and that's not including parts. I really don't want to pay that. On a easier car I know I can do it but it seems like a PITA on this car. Any guides on how to do it? Should someone with only little experience do it? Also what plugs should I get and what should I gap them to? Thx for your help.

I've got the same car. Just pop off the y pipe and intake. might have to unscrew the coolant reservoir and just slide it outta the way. Then just take the bolts out of each coilpack they should each have 2. Slide coilpack out and unscrew the sparkplug. Do that for each one real simple.

I use ngks there real good 10 bucks a piece tho

What do you gap those bad boys to?

I believe the ngks come pre gapped for it because I never had to change the gap when I bought them and they worked fine

Yes they say they come pre-gaped but you should never not check the gap. OEM specs for the spark plug gap is .016 - .024 inches. I most spark plugs come gaped at .028 which some people can run, but most will likely have a misfire or burn up your coilpack. I have my plugs gaped at .024 and have not had any problem. I tried .028 in the past and would get a misfire and a flashing cel. So trust me don't skip on checking the gap.

Below is a link on how to change them. I don't believe the pics are working any more but it should be enough to get you started. It is very simple just a lot of little things to get out of the way.
