Default Squeak at high rpm shifts?

So this other kid that lives in the same town as me got an s4 around the same time as i did, his had a lil more miles though, i know he beats on it too. I heard him driving the other night and he was "racing" the motor, when he shifted at high rpms i hear a prominent sqeak type noise. Is this a blow off sound? I didnt think so since our cars run a "close looped" system. I was just messin around in my car and heard the same squeak noise at a high rpm shift. Is this noise bad or is it just ablow off noise through the filter?

sometimes you can hear the bypass valve at high rpm's, at least i have before but it wasn't very loud at all from inside the car, outside it's a little easier to hear, but it's no high squeek.

Most likely your belt slipping a little.

Yeah I get this when I am hammering down - a bit of belt chirp is what it sounds like to me....

i got the same problem. To me it sounds like the clutch slipping. Everytime... (yeah, pretty often) it sounds like the clutch is slipping. Its possible it could be the belts, but with the clutch smell sometimes... I got a big probability its the clutch.

Mine is def not the clutch - very much a belt slip (chirp and/or squeal) type of sound...

yeah that makes sense, and does sound like a belt slipping, a real short squeal/squeak

Why not try taking off the serpintine belt and take it for a spin and see if the squeak is still there.
Just don't drive it too far so the battery dies LOL.
