Anyone know about tweaking the TCM to get increased performance out of an S4 tiptronic (2001)
Ive heard it makes quite a difference in shifting?

Thanks

Yes, Giac has a product called a "tipchip". It increases shifting speeds dramatically, and gives you more control making the tranny behave more like a manual. Do you have your engine chipped yet?

RE: tiptronic / tcm upgrade

Im waiting for a new brain, so the engine will be chipped w/in the next few weeks. This is my 3rd tiptronic and have never been impressed w/ the shifting. When I heard about tweaking the TCM my eyes lit up. It was my understanding that my old TCM needs to be removed, sent in and modified. This sounded like a real pain in the ass. My audi performance guy works out of berkely, CA and I live in Los Angeles and understand that removing the TCM is no easy task. Im also weary about changing chips because my car is under warranty, this is why Im waiting for a brain and not just chipping the engine Any suggestions or reputable performance guys in LA.

thanks
