Well i cant be sure.. Ill give you a couple of my guesses. First would be a bad MAF again like i think i said before on my initial guess. another guess is O2 sensor. Final guess would be a possible vac leak, more specifically inbetween the MAF and the turbos.
With the mapped coolant system code.. if that is unrelated.. could be a bad coolant sensor

DTC: 17544
P-Code: P1136
Description: "Long Term Fuel Trim Add.Fuel
DTC: 17704
P-Code: P1296
Description: Cooling system malfunction
That's it for ur codes.
My guess would be change water temp sensor 5.95 $... change Thermostat
check wires for tear + connector for corrosion
test fuel pressure (special tools required) or meaby it's only a code showing
after fill up the car and not thighten gaz cap enough. Did check engine light
lit after filling up ???
You seem to have 2 different problem on the car.
let us know how it go's
Good luck !

yeah Im hoping the first problem is an easy "sensor swap"
for the engine coolant temp. sensor..
but the latest problem w/ the fuel is intermitent & a little more worrysome..
defenitely not gas cap though... I noticed every once in a while
if i take my foot of the gas - Itll stutter, or hesitate / jerk....
so Im defenitely gonn hafta take her in.... [&o]

RE: VAG Fault codes in - assistance plzzzzz
just a small explanation on why I gave this answer just out of interest to those diagnosing faults and P1296 is specific,
if the thermostat sticks then the engine ECU get the wrong signal hence the fuel metering over reacts like hot and cold and cant make its mind up how to fuel the system then you get spurious codes trying to compensate because of one faulty item (thermostat)

update: coolant temp sensor was swapped for upgraded "green" one. & so far so good -
no issues ! seems like that was the culprit. THanks to all for your input...

Yeeeeeeesssssssssssssssss ! It was the cheapest possibility of all exposed and it worked.
These little WTS should be replace in the same time you change TTB & DV's. WTS seem
to be a frequent problem on S4 + at 5.95 $ ea...
Glad your car's running properly know
