weird problem
 

[align=left]Ok, so for the past month, I've noticed that whenever I turn the car on, it seems i have less gas then when i turned it off last. The little computer display says I have less miles to go, and the needle on the gauge is farther down. So I've been checking under the car every time i leave, and theres no gas there. Also, at the gas station, after it pumps gas for a couple seconds, the nozzle clicks like the tank is full, even though it just started fueling. HELP!!

This is a normal thing, while you are driving the car compensates for the gas you are using and the miles you are driving. When you first startthe car you are not moving anywhere so the fuel will be a little lower than when you last stopped.

I thought of the hill thing, but i park on a flat surface so thats not it. About the compensation thing, I think its beyond that, because there is sometimes a difference of up to 40 miles on the comp, and up to 3/4 of a notch on the needle. The problem might involve the one in that link that vnv727 posted, but that seems like more of a difference than i am experiencing. Anyone know anything about the pump nozzle problem?

the path that our pump line takes I mean from gas cap to fuel tank isn't very smooth, did you try playing with how far in the nozzle is and how its twisted? I have to adjust it before I can pump smoothly; or did you just start having this problem? If so, have you tried to squeeze in too much gas too many times to get even dollar amounts? If so your evap tank may be full of fuel and will fill up with gas that registers with the float but then over night that extra gas magically dissapears because of the charcoal lining that is was over used.....hmmm

Yeah, the problem just started happening, and i always play with the nozzle to make sure that its in right. Usually i get a pretty smoothe pump though, i just have to hold it myself. And i never top off, i don't wanna risk anything flooding any sensors like you mentioned. Today I pumped gas though and it was fine, so maybe it just has to be in at exactly the right angle.
