v8 mustang? what gen? my 1.8t stage 1+(apr 93, but supporting mods) will run with most fox body to 93 stangs (302 stangs)
lightning? you are talking luxuary car v sport truck
camaro? again, i can walk/run v6 and would probably be able to handle any 305
boxster? sport coupe
corvette? sport car
honda civic?
um........ ok
as for the civics... depends on the mods and driver, but there really isn't any comparrison, unless like sweeds said you are talking autox or something of that nature....... you should of said a turbo rsx or something nicer.... but still i don't thing much comparo

M3 - ok, not the new v8 but most others
Now, some of these cars may have better handling characteristics (the porsches and m3 IMO) but the s4 holds its own pretty well and will supprise alot of people. LIke sweed said results are going to be different at the drag strip, auto x, road coarse, and on the street.

sorry, I should have been more specific. I was thinking about just street light to street light type of "races". cars you'd pull up to at a stoplight.
I do have to say that I'm surprised that the lightning wouldn't fare so well against a s4. Don't they have around 400hp supercharged? I know its a truck, but they don't weigh all that much compared to other trucks.
what about WRXs and Evo8s?
I guess I should pony up some day against some cars i get next to, but I'm too much of a chicken, haha. although what started me thinking about this was me next to a new shelby mustang yesterday. I tried everything I could to get next to him, but there was always a car around and that would have been too dangerous for a commute home from work
