Revving Issue - Fault

Hi,

My first post here, and I am at my wit's end. I'm hoping someone here has had a similar issue and knows the fix.

I have a 2002 S3, after bringing the car back from the dead (it had been sat idle for 5 months, through work) I got it through the MOT *cough* emissions *cough* That cost me £900, both rear springs being snapped was the brunt of that bill.

I then went away and a friend borrowed my car with the clause you break you fix, He cracked the sump - £300.

When I picked it up and drive home from work (150 miles) I was noticing the fuel economy was worse than normal, it seemed down on power and when the turbo was kicking in it was revving from 3100 RPM to 4100 RPM really quickly - like it was jumping then dropping back down to 3200 RPM and carrying on as normal.

After going to the garage again the diagnostic machine picked up, I think, the waste fuel sensor fault. So I had this replaced. That seemed to solve the fuel and power issue. But after about 100mile the revving issue returned - it started only happening in 6 gear. It happened in fourth & fifth since. It seems fine in lower gears. I am going to test now.

So I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue?

Hi Boose, I don't have an answer to you question and i will observe that this is a WAY more inactive forum than other forums that i have been on. Since you have resurrected the car from the dead maybe you can help me. This is my first Audi (a 2015 S3) and i wonder what kind of tool i need to do my own oil and filter change. For my X5M it was an 18mm hex wrench and all the other fixins for catching the oil etc. Do you happen to know off the top of your head what kind of wrench i should purchase. Sorry i am asking you, but i haven't had much traffic (and by much i mean none) on two other threads that i have started. Good luck with your issue. Hoping it is the waste fuel sensor! cheers
