Looking to buy a S3 and while searching the web about them I just see a post about a S3 loaned to a car mag which repoted bad oil comsumption.
A further search found that the 2L TFSI engine as a oil burning problem.

Can anyone inform me if this is correct? Another post said its only the diesel model. was this problematic engine fitted to the S3 at all? what year was is stopped if at all?

 

I would imagine that most inline four cylinder engines do not consume nearly as much oil as say a bi turbo V8. What are you currently driving out of curiosity?

 

A friend of mine owns a S3 since 2015 - no problems at all.
