B7 S4 exhaust/muffler help

1 Attachment(s)
I have a 2008(B7) Audi S4 (manual transmission & 100% stock) and I am looking to get more volume from my exhaust. I was wondering what the best option is to increase the exhaust volume while still having an aggressive/deep tone (increase in performance would be a bonus but not a deal-breaker). I want to stay away from anything that sounds like a "fart can". Does replacing just my muffler make any difference or do I have to replace the entire exhaust system? And if I do replace the muffler/exhaust, what size/style do I need to look for (configuration of the inlet/outlet [e.g. center, offset, or dual] and the correct diameter for both as well)? I would like to stay under $500 if possible but I'm willing to spend more as the quality of sound/product is more important to me; and if a full exhaust system is the best option then I'm probably looking at more than double that price. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also feel free to include pics/videos of what you did to your S4 as an example.

A lot of guys just go with one of the online options through APR or ECStuning. I went the cheaper route and just cut off my stock mufflers, the ones furthest back, and replaced them with stock diameter exhaust pipe and some tips. I got the sound I was looking for without paying $1000+. My car is still quiet-ish if I'm just cruising or idling, but give it hell and you can definitely tell it's a V8. To each, their own..
