AudiForums.com - S5 Cabriolet top not working

Greetings everyone! I recently purchased a 2010 S5 Cabriolet that had been in an accident. the damage was to the driver side door and a little into the quarter panel. I had a friend fix the damage to the car (which was not to bad) and replaced the door with another door. after I got the car back from the body shop the top no longer opened. I can manually move the top into the compartment. at which time the compartment top will open and close by using the switch button in the center console. However, when I attempt to raise the roof, the compartment top does move into the open position but the hydraulic pump in the left of the trunk compartment makes a sound for roughly 15 sec and then stops. I hooked the car up to an Autel and I can see that there are roughly 8 switches for the top in error. they all point to the switches on the left side. some are errors and some say implausible. I do not know where to go from here. Should I break down to buy the Vag-Com? will it tell me which switches are failing? is it possible my friend put things back in the wrong order? could the accident have damaged some of the switches or pinched a wire?
