It is highly unlikely you got the 220 HP version as those tunes were special editions (one called DTM edition) from Audi mostly sold only in Europe. Not saying a few couldn't have made it over here...

That would make more sense and would make me more comfortable repairing just the wiring. This way you don't have to worry about something else going on and causing melted wires, blown fuses, etc....
