Default Dilema

Here's the scoop. I brought my TT to the dealer to check on a 2-3 second squeal on start up, so I thought I would have them do an oil change while I was there.( We've had below freezing weather here in Colorado so my garage floor is rather cold, that's why I brought it in. ) Needless to say after 2 days when I went to file the paperwork,I noticed they did not use synthetic oil. When I called them back, the service rep told me it was not stated on the original order to use synthetic so they did not use it.My question is, canI just let it go for about 1k miles and do another oil change, or should I get a flush and redo with synthetic now? What do you guys think?

really, in turbo cars, i wouldnt use anything other than synthetic. i work at cough, jifyy lube, cough and i have seen a turbo smoke and die because they used low grade oil so if i were you, go with the flush.

Hmmm.... stealership gets another one, that is why I change my own oil, no matter what. I know what I put into my baby.

Audi recommends Synthetic in the 1.8T engine.. I find it hard to believe (but not surprised) that the dealer put in the cheaper non-synthetic..

There is a good discussion about oils in the Engine Oil Bible

Thanks guys, just thought I'd get some feed back. I don't understand why they didn't ask me what was originally in there first. That's what I get for assumming ( we all know what that means! ) what I discussed over the phone when I made the appointment would actually be on the work order.Anyone from Colorado Springs? I would like to see if I can find a good tech for service. Thanks again.
