Default timing belt question and weird noise at high rpm

first off im due for a timing belt.... whats the best site to buy one from that will have everything i need? how hard is it to install by myself?

second issue is that when im "aggressivly" driving at around 5500 rpm my car makes a loud whining noise.... it doesnt sound like the turbo and its only recently that it started doing it... unless my turbo is dying or something either way not sure what it is... i can try to record it or something if need be

Not sure about the "whining noise" boost leak possibly or the DV leaking by.

Most people recommend the timing belt kit from Dieselgeek

As for a DIY instructions there are several out there..I wouldn't say it is easy, but it is doable.. Here is one of the better ones.Timing Belt , Ribbed Belt , Tensioning Damper , Tensioning Roller , Water Pump and Coolant Service (1.8T Turbo 20V Valve)

Just remember...

A friend will help you move.... a GOOD friend will help you move bodies.

That is true. I've gotten out of about 5 tickets since sept just for batting an eyelash :-D I like having breasts sometimes. lol. One of the officers even asked for my number- I should have gotten him fired... but then I think of the fact that he let me go without a very large ticket....
On the way to work tonight even, I was driving about 10 over the speed limit and a state trooper sped past me on the freeway, glanced over, then slowed even with my car (of course I was like "ugh, he's pacing me to see if I'm speeding"). I look over at him all incognito like to see him smiling at me and totally checking me and the TT out (probably more the fact of someone under the age of 40 in MN driving a nice car). I guess I just get lucky with police officers... but who else would I want to drag around dead bodies for me right? ;-)
