Question about MAF and O2 sensor
So i got this code from the VAG:
17537 - Fuel Trim; Bank 2 (Mult): System too Rich
P1129 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
looking at the wiki website it says its either the MAF or O2 sensor which is bad. My question is how hard is it to change these? I couldnt find any DIY on the audidiy website, so i have no clue how to change them. Would like to do it myself, since the stealership quoted me 750 to change both MAF and O2. Also which o2 sensor should i change the pre or post sensor?
Thanks for your help

The MAF is right after the air filter so not really hard and in some case you can get away with just cleaning it. As for the O2 sensors it would be the pre cat since they're the ones that deal with feuling the post cats are there to monitor the cats. not sure how hard it is to do the O2 though since i think you need a special tool and then tracce the wires back to the connection point, also did you try to clear the codes and see if they come back.
no i havent cleared the codes, but i know that either the MAF or O2 are bad, cause i have been getting 200 miles per tank lol... I think i will clean my MAF and then clear codes and see if they come back again.
Also do i have to take out anything to access the MAF? I removed the air filter and didnt see the MAF?
Thanks

if it was the maf the codes would say either bank one or bank 2 is is rich. probably the front o2 sensor. i think it's a 22mm, a crowfoot works rly well. you can borrow one from autozone. take it out and spray the crap out of it with intake/throttle body cleaner. put it back in then if the code comes back clear it a couple of times. if a code pops up for the rear o2 sensor clean that one too. seafoam your engine too.
"if it was the maf the codes would say either bank one or bank 2 is is rich."
I think my code says bank two is rich...[&:]... maybe i didnt understand what you said. Also, where exactly is the o2 sensor located?

i meant like if the maf was messed up, that's what the code would say because the maf ties the 2 banks together. bank 2 is the driver's side. move the coolant reservoir and you'l see it
the o2 is simply the only thing with an electrical connection in the exhaust pipe before the cat. as for the MAF its on the air filter houseing, again with the electrical connection on it, the actual thing is the wire mesh and resistor that measure the air flow, thats what needs cleaning, as for the sensors do what hiwords said and along with seafoaming the engine.
Which one of these guys is the cable for O2 sensor? This was right under my coolant tank.
Thanks
