First of all, why is VA considered 'south'? I think theres too many states included in the South. Anyway, I'm moving to the Norfolk area in December. I saw that theres some members in the Virginia Beach area. Any meets going on down there?

Any advice on where to look for an apartment? I'll be working on Norfolk but I've heard the area around there isn't the greatest and across the bridge to the north is a little better. Any thoughts on this? I was kinda wondering how that drive across the bridge would be if I had to do it daily.

Mason/Dixon line (remember, back in school, that whole North v. South thing back in the 1850/60's?) is btwn PA/MD. Everything south of teh M/D line is considered South. VA is South of MD. Besides, have you ever HEARD people from VA TALK? Seen how they DRESS? Taken a good LOOK at them? They ARE from the south, my friend. They ARE from the South.

Comin from Conecticut, Va is southern enough. im actually goin to school in Norfolk/Va beah so im real familiar with that bridge your talkin about. Im down for any kinda meet down here. Its real hard to find anyone with a car worth lookin at let alone talkin about. Saw a tiburon spraypainted blue with 15' black rims... its hurtin guys.

Well I'm down in the Virginia Beach area now. And holy crap I hate this traffic. I'm currently staying on Langley while I look for an apartment (probably in VA Beach). I've seen lots of Audis (well, lots of all nice cars compared to Idaho...) so where are you all?

I can relate to AWDHolic.. I'm currently all over VA (sales) and get to Va Beach often. The North half of the state is the same hustle/bustle you expect of a northern city. Once you head west, and south of NOVA (northern VA), it becomes apparent that VA is in the south.. things Ssssslllloooowwww down considerably.

If you're in Norfolk, the places to hang are Granby St. downtown and Pembroke area of Va. Beach. Depending on your monetary situation, I'd recommend Kincaids and Magnolias in Norfolk for good food and check out the Norva for an ecclectic mix of concert acts. (Everyone from David Allan Coe to the Backstreet Boys to Nickel Creek to GWAR!)

There's apparently one heck of a good Audi shop in Suffolk called the Audiconnection (www.audiconnection.com). They specialize in old V8 Quattros but do work on other models. I can't speak from personal experience but they get raved about alot on Audiworld.com.

yea, u really need to get out more. for anyone in the hampton roads/va beach area check out sevenfivesevendubs.com for our local group of hardcore vw/audi enthusiasts... our shit does not stink, seriously.

Anyone get an aftermarket system put in their audi in the richmond area? I am looking to install a dvd nav head unit, amp, and sub.
