Default 06 A4 vs 08 Pontiac GXP v6

Took my girlfriends car to the store and on the way back i catch a light, look over and a couple in a honda s2k pulled up next to me. The driver gives me a glare so im thinking he will want to run. Light turns green and i floor it, but the guy just takes off normal. I start to slow down but see these lights coming up fast so brake thinking it was the s2k wanting to run now, but it wasnt him. It was 2 guys in a 08 Pontiac GXP, it had suspension mods as well as an intake. Not sure what kind of power it made i asked him and he said 255 stock. I was thinking i was going to get raped, we slowed down to a 20mph roll and he just said ''GO'' so i floored it and to my suprise i got about a car out on him and kept a slow pull on him to 100mph. It suprised me, the only thing i can think is that the weight of his passenger hurt him. The A4 is a stock FWD auto, i just wish my girl would let me at least get a chip for it but she is not into that kind of stuff..lol.

The car you are speaking of is a Solstice GXP. They're not V6's, they're turboed I4's. And they make 260hp stock. And he either wasn't trying, or he missed a gear. They're basement 14's completely stock. Mods puts them into the 13's w/ ease. Enough to dispatch any A4 w/ no trouble at all....

The Bonneville GXP's have the 4.6 Northstar V8. The Grand Prix GXP's have the 5.3 LS4 V8. Solstice GXP's have 260hp, the driver said he had 255, so you do the math. And it doesn't matter, because a GXP Bonnie or Grand Prix would still cream any A4 that wasn't heavily modded.

All aboard the fail boat.....

I highly recommend "borrowing" the girlfriend's car for the day and going out and getting it chipped! lol My A6 2.7L bi-turbo is chipped which gives her a very sexy 318hp/382 ft lbs of torque in chip mode. You can feel the jet lag suck you to your seat when you floor her. Granite, chips aren't the cheapest - but if you do pay for a better one like I have, you can change back & forth b/t stock mode & chip mode. If the GF has it, keep it in stock mode. She'll never know

If his gf's A4 isn't the 2.0T, a chip isn't going to give it very large gains. If it is though, I def second the suggestion. Big difference, for sure. Easily enough to possibly decide the outcome of a race......

Meh, depends on lots of conditions. You can take the same GP-GXP that pulls 14.61@102 (bone stock down to the air filter) and 5 passes later pull 13.7x@108 - lots of factors, especially if it's a highway roll you start from. Bonne GXP bone stock would get its *** handed to it by my piddly little 3.8S/C V6 from 0-100 but that's where I'd be falling flat on my face. Solstice GXP, depends on the year, and the driver, and etc...

That said, nice kill. I'll see ya on the track if you ever want to run some brackets =oD

Uhm, a GXP GP or even Bonnie would still crush any stock A4 from a highway roll. The GP espec. And although some of the LS4 powered W-bodies have actually gone 13.6X's, NONE have trapped 108mph. That's creeping up to LS2 GTO territory. And LS4's do not trap LS2 GTO speeds. I know, I have one. And yes, the SC'd 3.8 pwns the hell out of the Northstar. Espec when it comes to modding potential. All Solstice GXP's should run similar numbers regardless or year or tranny option. What the auto cars gain in boost-on WOT upshifts, they lose again through their added parasitic loss. But at any rate, the moral of the story is the race in question's results were a fluke. But a win is a win, as unfortunatey not all people are capable of driving their cars to their potential....

May the original poster thought it was a GXP and it wasnt. Or Perhaps the driver was a dufus and thought he had a GXP and he doesn't lol. There is a 173 horsepower version of the solstice. You should show more audi pride, instead of pontiac pride :P, unless you have a TA then it is understandable
