i wont go into great detail, but a guy that lives where ii work has been flaunting this maxima around like he's hot ****, i was comming out of work and he was out detailing his car and he stopped me and asked if i wanted run him. i said sure and the fun insued. looks like i picked the wrong day to turn the MBC down

race 1 dead stop

he took me off the line, and stayed about 3/4 car length ahead

race 2 rollin 40mph

again he was a little quicker but this time he could only stay 1/4 length ahead.

both times it seemed like our cars were shifting in unisen
his car is 4cyl 2.0lauto, he has exhaust and intake for sure.

and before i get flammed and told to take it to the track the race was on a closed road owned by my company.

 

his maxima isnt a 2.0 4 cylinder, its a 3.0 v6. I had a 97 se with exahust, y p[ipe, intake, short throw and it would easily take a 1.8t a4 by a few cars

 

That guy should have walked you hard....

 

He claims it is a 4 cyl i have not seen under the hood, also it is an auto. i think his is a 03 or 04. and knowing what you said i do not feel bad about how i did thank you.

update*** we are planning on going to the track (if it opens, snow in the forcast) saturday i will post times and slips

 

The '02+ cars had the 3.5 V6, and are good for mid-high 14's no prob. It's not wonder why you lost really. Even the older 3.0 cars are pretty quick....
