A4 vs. 3000GT

Cruisin down HighwayI-69 , when i see a white mitsubishi 3000 GT in my rear mirror. He starts comin up close, and i move over to the right lane to let him get a closer look. He takes one look at me and tries to stomp it. He takes me for a second, and then to my suprise i start gaining on him. Then, pass him!and keep pulling on him!how could my 3.0 V6 beat that car? My guess is that its just not the turbo GT version that i thought it was. Must have been straight stock, cause the Audi got the W this time around.

What kind of car do you drive????

As for the 3K, it had to have been a base model. They weren't terribly fast. A VR-4 would have killed you....

true that a vr-4 is a tank but still quick, i know the base model comes with a single cam 6 cylinder making all of no hp.my friends 03 stock civic si hatchbeats on my other friend base model 3000gt,the base is also not awd like the bigger brother, oh there ungodly slow. your a4 has more horsepower then it, and it is just all around better, the only thing the base takes from its bigger brother is the weight.

i also heard they also came with a 4 clyinder to, is that true? can anyone prove or disprove that. ive never seen that model

2004 A4 USP 3.0 V6. I think u guys are right- had to be the base model- cause the VR-4 would have stomped me. Im not sure if there is a 4 cylinder type. I have never heard of the 4 banger 3000. But im almost postitive that is was just a base model puuure stock. But it was fun passing him with my 4 rings in his face- agagagaga

to my recollection there is no 4 cyl.

now on the other hand, the reg 6 model came with about 220 hp, but not a boat load of tq...... and you do have to realize they quit making these in like 97 so it is over 10yrs old and most of them have probably 100,xxx miles on them and were probably drive hard and put away wet.......

the only "fast" ones you will find will be the vr4 which is awd aws and tt.....i think they are making around 350ish hp not sure on the tq, but it would be amazing to see one doing donughts with the aws

Yeah, there were no 4 cyl models, only V6's. The base models were fwd, w/ no more than 220hp, and a lot of weight to push w/ it.

Haha, I remember racing a 3kgt, it must have been the vr-4 although debadged, with the base body because it walked my s4 hard

I atea VR-4 from a stop light with my old, stock '89 5.0 about 8 years ago. He challenged me and I beat him anyway. Suprised me because I should have lost. Eh, what can you do? [sm=gears.gif]
