So I'm minding my own business in my '99 2.8Q 5-speed on one of my town's most notorious street racing venues. I'm sitting at the stoplight with two friends in the car. Suddenly, I hear a roar to my left. I look over and see her - black 6.0 litre Pontiac GTO...the 400hp one. I rev my engine. The 60+ guy driving it rolls his window down and points to the stoplight. I nonchalantly say "I have no chance, I'd better not." "Eh, you have AWD kid," he replies. We compliment one another on each other's cars. I look ahead, ready for the green light.
Suddenly, an entire funeral parade takes over "our" green light and drives through the intersection...this takes like 3 minutes. As soon as the funeral parade is out of my way, I launch. At this point, my friend in the backseat claims I have a good two cars on the guy...he's still back there screeching. I floor it relentlessly as I hear him coming up on my A4. Again, I hear the roar to my left, he is now beside me. He looks over at me for a second and floors it, leaving me PWNED.
It was fun, though.

i can't belive they put that huge motor in there... i gotta see one in person... how did they do that? the s4 is only a 4.2 and that engine looks big....... i wouldn't mind running against one though just too see how fast they are....
RE: A4 vs 6 litre GTO (haha)
Dimension wise, the LS2 in the GTO's are actually quite compact. The fact that they are OHV design allows the engine to be shorter in both height and length. Also, they are all aluminum construction, so they're fairly light as well. But for numbers: 0-60 in high 4sec, 1/4 in high 12's-low 13's. But they respond very well to mods, and bolt-ons make these cars killers...

Ah.. you beat me to it! All the LS-x motors are pretty much the same size externally as the original small block chevy from 1955, the 265. and that includes the mighty 505hp, 7.0 liter,LS-7. The only thing that makes them a little biggerthan the old small block chevy is the coils and coil covers on top of the valve covers.ORIGINAL: scg87
